Wedding Update: Wedding Dress Shopping

After hemming and hawing about dress shopping I finally bought my wedding dress yesterday. There's only about 8 months until our wedding and, according to some bridal stores, I'm cutting it pretty close purchasing the dress only now. I didn't really know what kind of dress I wanted at first and my initial appointment decisions were heavily influenced by the bridal styles I was seeing on Instagram, which was a such a big mistake! My first appointment was at a boutique bridal store in Vancouver and while the customer service was stellar and the dresses were beautiful, they only had 3 dresses that fit my budget and none of the dresses really fit my body type. I ended up cancelling an appointment at a similar boutique bridal shop. I went to a few more traditional bridal stores and finally found my dress at the last store I visited. Beyond what I think are the two most important rules of not trying on dresses outside of your budget and giving yourself enough time, here are a couple more tips that helped me finalize my dress decision.

Aritzia Clientele

*UPDATED*

It's time again for the annual Aritzia summer sale! I think it's insane that I've been shopping at Aritzia for over 10 years and what's even crazier is that this is probably my 8th year being invited to the private sale. I haven't even been buying much stuff there over the last few years, but I think they know they can really hook me into buying stuff I don't need if they invite me to the private sale haha

Review: MCM Milla Tote Medium

I've recently downsized my bag collection and have decided to get rid of bags that I haven't been using or ones that can be replaced with a more practical style. I was really excited to get the MCM Milla as the bag is practical for work and weekends. I think a lot of people are surprised that this is an MCM bag since it's not monogrammed to death.

Tips On Buying An Engagement Ring

If you've read my life update post, you know that I got engaged! I thought it would be fun to do some wedding related posts as I'm planning my wedding for next year.  I work in the industry so I have a lot of experience (bad and good) dealing with couples getting engagement and wedding rings. This one will be a "mini" post on, what I think, are the most important things to keep in mind when buying engagement ring.  I can't possibly put everything down in one post, so if you have any more questions about engagement and wedding rings, shoot me an email!

Paradisus Cancun Part II

Other than Bana, there are 8 other restaurants and 6 bars inside the resort. Even though the other restaurants, except for Tempo and La Palapa, were included in the all-inclusive rates we mostly ate at the buffet because we didn't want to make reservations. We also ate a lot of room service food!

Travel Essentials & Tips

I started travelling a lot with my parents when I was still in elementary school. We used to go on a family trip once or twice a year and I would depend on my parents to tell me what to pack. Now that I'm older and have travelled by myself a good number of times, I've determined what my must-have travel items are. Below are my top 5 travel essentials and some extra travel trips.

Paradisus Cancun Part I

As part of our prep for our wedding next year (click here for more details on the engagement and my ring), my fiance and I attended the My Dream Wedding Show in January. The grand prize draw for the show was a 4 nights/5 days trip to the all inclusive Paradisus Cancun, which was graciously provided by Marlin Travel. My fiance was lucky enough to win the grand prize! We've never won anything remotely close to this, so I couldn't believe it until I saw the email he received from one of the reps at Marlin Travel.

We did have to pay for the flights and we decided to book them through Marlin Travel as well. After doing some research on weather and peak tourist months, we decided to go to Cancun in late April. I wanted to go during the last week of April for my birthday, but the dates I wanted weren't available. Apparently, we were quite lucky according to the doorman as it was raining the week before.

Life Update

After reading through my blog recently, I realized I didn't have a single post in 2015! Nothing really inspired me and everytime I'd try to start writing I would just lose interest in it. I'm a homebody and not really the type that likes to dress up and go out every weekend so there weren't many events I attended or chances to take pictures. I'd much rather play videogames :)

Review: Chasers Juice Revolution Cleanse

I wasn't originally going to do a review on this cleanse as I don't review food, but there aren't many reviews of their cleanses so I thought I'd get my opinion out there to help people that are interested in buying this cleanse. Unfortunately, there won't be any pictures of the juices as this wasn't a planned post.
