Paradisus Cancun Part II

Other than Bana, there are 8 other restaurants and 6 bars inside the resort. Even though the other restaurants, except for Tempo and La Palapa, were included in the all-inclusive rates we mostly ate at the buffet because we didn't want to make reservations. We also ate a lot of room service food!

We didn't do much the rest of the time we were there, except go to the Yhi Spa and try their hydrotherapy. The spa is pretty small and the hydrotherapy wasn't anything special (hence no pictures). I much prefer the Scandinave Spa in Whistler. We were actually supposed to do a parasailing activity, but it was so windy that the activity was cancelled. We booked with Parasail Cancun and they gave us a refund (as per their policies). So for the rest of the week we just lay on the beach, swam in the pool, and basically did nothing.

The pool pictured above has a swim up bar that was seriously busy from about 10am to 7pm. If you opt for the Royal Service, you get access to a private pool (no kids allowed) with a swim-up bar. All the cabanas are for rent (I think about $100+ per day).

Instead of renting a cabana near the pool we opted for the beach front ones that are served by Coco's Bar. It was $75USD for a day rental, which includes either a bottle of Moet champagne with fruit or a lobster dish. You can order snacks and drinks all day or you can leave for lunch at a restaurant and come back. The cabana isn't ideal for tanning, but they have those beach lounge chairs available near the DJ booth.

I mentioned on Part I that there is nightly entertainment at Avenue Bar. You don't have to be inside the bar to watch, but it does get pretty crowded were we were standing in the lobby hallway. The main pyramid was lit quite nicely at night too so it was nice to just sit at the benches around the pyramid.

I don't think it's necessary to upgrade to Royal Service. I've read that some people upgraded because they get to stay at the part of the hotel with no kids or teens, but that pyramid is far away from the main pyramid so it may not be convenient since all the restaurants and pools are near the main pyramid. There were a lot of families with kids, but I honestly didn't notice them (maybe the kids were super well-behaved? haha). Royal Service also has a private pool, but the regular pool wasn't busy unless you were around the swim-up bar.

Overall, our first trip to Mexico and our first all-inclusive resort was great (we're planning our next trip back already)! We didn't get to Parasail, but it was nice to just relax and do nothing. It was also really nice that the beaches weren't so busy like in Hawaii. Everyone at the resort was really nice and service was top-notch. The food was pretty good, though keep in mind that I'm not very picky and not at all a foodie. Alcoholic drinks were weak though, but I was expecting that since you get unlimited drinks. I would recommend Paradisus more for families rather than couples as the hotel seems more geared toward families anyway (separate kids pool, family lounge, etc.).

  1. Hi there! Love your blog! I was wondering how tall you are? I was looking at your review of the Aritzia Talula Trooper jacket in XXXS and trying to figure out if it would fit me similarly (I'm petite). Thanks!

    1. Hey sorry, my reply didn't get posted for some reason :(

I'm 5feet. I find the jacket fits tight around the chest and shoulders (I have wide shoulders though). Hope this helps! :)
