Dine Out Vancouver Part 3: Bistro Pastis

We finished our DOV experience with dinner at Bistro Pastis. Like The Boathouse, Bistro Pastis also offered a $28 or $38 menu. Right as we got into the restaurant, we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server and all other employees that gave us our dishes or refilled our glasses were super polite. The restaurant itself is quite small and got quite noisy (there were several tables with babies...).

They had this little chalkboard (pictured below) that said: "Welcome friends to the show that tonight ends. Till next year."

Dine Out Vancouver Part 2: The Boathouse

The Boathouse is a chain of chop/seafood restaurants located througout Vancouver. For DOV, we ate at the Richmond location due to convenience as we wanted to watch a movie right after.

The Boathouse offered a $28 and $38 menu. The $28 menu didn't include dessert, which is very dissapointing considering there are raved-about restaurants that offer a full 3 courses for $28. We chose the $38 though, because we wanted to try the steak with lobster and shrimp.

Current Obsession: Alexander Wang

I have been obsessed with the A.Wang Rockie and Rocco lately. I even had a dream about it. I know that these two bags have become a mainstay for bloggers and celebrities alike and I can totally understand why. I have read though that the Rocco is quite heavy due to all the studs on the bottom and it's probably going to look huge on me.

I've seen a few pictures of the Rockie and it looks like it would be a better size for my height. I'm planning to go to Holt Renfrew this week to check the bags out (maybe it'll help me get over it)!

If I do ever get either bag, I'd probably get the black pebbled leather with rose gold hardware. Though, the red one looks good too and would probably be better since my go-to outfits are usually boring black.

Dine Out Vancouver 2013 Part 1: Joe Fortes

The Dine Out Vancouver Festival is an event held by Tourism Vancouver every year over the course of a few weeks (17 days this year). The wide variety of restaurants participating in DOV offer prix-fix (fixed price) meals for $18, $28, or $38 per person. I've actually only participated in DOV once a few years ago and the prices were quite a bit cheaper then. There were also less $28 menus this year, which is definitely unfortunate if you plan on trying more fine-dining restaurants.

For our first DOV experience this year, my bf and I went to Joe Fortes in downtown Vancouver. Joe Fortes offers a $38 menu.
